MVD is found most common in older dogs. Cavaliers show it sometimes up early then another breeds. The Cardiologist make Colourheart Echo from the heart every year for the males and 2 years for the females. The Classification go to the owner and to the Cavalier Club Netherlands. The dog can show a murmer. Mumers are usually vibrators in the heart or blood vessels, due chiefly to valve turbulente. A murmer is grade to 1 to 6. Mitral Valve Diseease is a degeneration of the left-sided mitral valva.

You can get Classification:

  • Class A: No abnormalities.
  • Class B: Minimal lesions at the mitral valve .
  • Class C: Mild lesions at the mitral valve.
  • Class D: Moderate lesions at the mitral valve.
  • Class E: Severe lesions at the mitral valve bij erge prolaps en/of erge verdikking en/of ernstige mitralisklepregurgitatie – de linker boezem is sterk gedilateerd.

A/B/C positive advice. After evaluation of all results over a timeline of one year, this is likely nuanced and age of the dog comes involved. D/E negtive advice.

Advice for re-investigation:

  • Males A/B/C re-investigation after 1 year, this is required by breeding regulations.
  • Females A/B/C re-investigation after 1 year, by breeding regulations required every 2 years, advice every year.
  • Males and females D/E negative breeding advice, no re-investigations required only to check the dogs health status.
